Change style from 3 col to 2?

I'd like to change my style from 3 column to 2. Is this possible, or would it screw everything up?

Nothing will screw up.

Take the 2col update File from the update Package

There are 2 xmls:
One for 2 Col and one for 3 Col.
Import with Product Manager and enable "Overwrite".
