Installing and Updating vBTubePRO

Please read this FAQ. If settings are not correct, then vbtubePRO will not work properly !

New Install Instructions with Screenshots.

Here are the steps:
Download the latest Version of vBTubePRO at "Download" Forum here at vbtube.com


1. Upload Contents of "Upload" Folder to Forums Root.

2. Chmod 777 following Folders

/vbtube/tmp
/vbtube/photos
/vbtube/photos/original
/vbtube/photos/thumbs
/vbtube/photos/thumbs_video
/vbtube/upload
/vbtube/upload/flv
/vbtube/upload/thumb

3. Import vbtube-2col.xml File with Product Manager.

4. Import the youtube_browser.xml File with Product Manager

5. Run vbtube_install.php
Example: http://www.yourdomain.com/forums/vbtube_install.php

You will get a Message:Install/Update Successfull - Don't forget to delete vbtube_install.php from your Forum Root!
Now delete this File -> vbtube_install.php from your Server.
If you get a DB Error that means you already have the usergroup Table created and you don´t have to do this Step..


6. Now, add a new Forum -> "Forums & Moderators" -> "Add new Forum"
Type "0" at the Display Order

You got the option to add more Forums for the Comments but it's recommended to use only 1 Forum for Comments !
We are supporting only the using of 1 Forum for the Comments.

7. Now we need the ForumID of the new added Forum for Comments.
Click to "Forum Manager" in our example it is "3"

8. Enter Forum Path at admincp/vBTubePRO/options -> Forum Path
For Example mine here is : /srv/www/vhosts/vbtube.com/httpdocs/forum

9. Enter License Key wich you got from us to: admincp/vbTubePRO/Options -> License Key (At the Bottom)


10. If you enabled Latest Postings Bit you have to add the ForumID for Comments there too.

11. Set Permission Settings for each Usergroup. Edit the options however you like.

You have to set vbtube access for each group otherwise you will get a NO-PERMISSION Page.
/ admincp/ usergroups / usergroup manager / for example select adminstators

12. Now you can add your Categories.

Admincp/vBTubePRO/Add Category

- Category Name
- Display Number (Only RC1 Start with 10, 100, 200, 300, 400...)
- ForumID: Enter here the ForumID we get from Step 7 (In our example the ForumID is 3)
- Select Category Type

The Display Order is very Important when using Subcategories.

RTMC = Revert to Main Category. If you click this Button the Subcategory will change to a Main Category.

13. If you use vbseo then open up vBSEO.txt File in your .zip Package and copy paste content to vbSEO/control Panel/Custom Rewrite Rules.

14. Please Copy your Forums /images/icons Content into /vbtube/images/icons
Many of you using not the standard style and the icons.. Maybe some Icons will not shown if you don´t do this step.

15. If you want to use 2 Pass Encoding edit this File with Forum Url and Forum Path.
root/vbtube/tmp/2pass.php

Update is very easy :
1. Upload Content of "upload" Folder and select overwrite
2. Import 2col or 3col xml File with Product Manager and enable "OVERWRITE" there.
3. Import product-youtube_browser-New Install.xml
4. Run yourdomain.com/forumroot/vbtube_install.php (After success delete this file from your server)

Maybe there is a Release Specific Update Step. You can get the Instructions at the Download Thread of the Release.

It´s better to make always an db backup...
