About LinkBacksI think it would be better to have a drop down menu to show the Categories instead of getting transferred to another page...Saves on queries as well no?
Same would work for the uploads (that's what i did on my website)

It is possible to show the dropdown menu.
Wich template you have installed ? 2 Column or 3 ?

Maybe i don't u understand you. You mean the drop down here for example in the title area right side:
