Thread: Feature request...

I don't see a forum to post this so I hope you don't mind my posting here.

I'd like to see the ability to set videos I upload to private so they can be viewed only by certain people. Perhaps linked to forum permissions of vB. Once set to private they will not be viewable to the rest of the members. Not even the thumbnail will show up on the screen without the user having the correct permissions.

Thanks for your hard work with this great plugin.

We can code it but the video file has a url wich is callable from outside.
So if someone knows the url of the video, he can watch.
Saving videofiles like photos into the database makes no sense.

So if someone has a idea to solve this, i am open for good ideas

Remember I know close to nothing about coding so let me know if this is possible somehow...

Can it be coded that a certain password is required for each usergroup to access the videos?

For example:
You and I are part of usergroup1.
I post a private video
since you're part of usergroup1, when you navigate to the video page you'll see the thumbnail for all videos and usergroup1 videos as well.
But usergroup2 would have a different password assigned to it so it will only see the public videos and those private ones assigned to usergroup2.
Of course if' you're part of multiple usergroups you'll see those thumbnails.
...and so on....

Can the url be masked somehow so no one can read it in the address bar?

Even if it can't, it's worth a try.

If the uploader chooses a private upload, they then choose the usergroup, or users, they want to have access to their video.

Let me think about this feature, i have some ideas...
