Does vbtube work easily with the jw player 5.8 from longtailvideo - to enable ipad/iphone HTML5 support ?

The latest jwplayer is included in vBTube, but HTML5 Support is not coded.
It is planned.

But youtube is not working and this is very important.
Only own hosted videos would work.

jw player supports youtube again since version 5.6

For our site we only need the player for our own hosted videos, youtube is not required for our site

Yes but only the flash version.
Html5 jw player does not work with youtube.

YouTube Failover
JW Player 5.3 allows for YouTube playback on all platforms via a specially crafted embed mechanism. Unfortunately, this embed mechanism does not provide an API, and hence, including a YouTube embed disrupts the player. Once YouTube makes their HTML5 API available, we will improve support.

With the last version the hosted video can be readed in iphone ?

No but i am planning this for the next version.

The videos have to be in mp4 format, just for info..
